I am an author.

 

Along with Kevin Ferris of the Philadelphia Inquirer, I am the author of Unbreakable Bonds: The Mighty Moms and Wounded Warriros of Walter Reed, released on November 18, 2014 by Skyhorse Publishing. I am also a freelance writer, and my stories have appeared in many regional and national newspapers, magazines, and other media outlets including the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Baltimore Sun, and Coastal Style Magazine, among others.

 

In addition co-authoring Unbreakable Bonds: The Mighty Moms and Wounded Warriors of Walter Reed, I am working on two autobiographies of a former Member of Congress and a nationally recognized entrepreneur. I was also people editor of two regional magazines: Local Living and Bucks Living - and have written more than 30 profile stories for these two regonal periodicals. Check out my Book Reviews to learn more.

About Me

I am a Director of Communications.

 

I coordinate all of the communications for the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC), a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote service, bipartisanship and dialog both in the U.S. and around the world. More than 600 former Members of Congress help promote civic education through many outreach programs such as Congress to Campus, charity golf tournaments, mentorship programs, and international missions to share best practices.

 

I am a business owner.

 

For the past 25 years I have owned and managed Guerin Public Relations, Inc., where I have created communications programs for many Fortune 100 companies, national sports teams, government agencies, and non-profit organizations,among many others. My clients have incuded: Comcast; The Philadelphia Eagles; Rohm & Haas; Tasty Baking Company; H.J. Heinz; The City of Philadelphia; Mrs. Bush's Story Time; The Malvern School; Asphalt Roofing Manufacture's Association; WXPN Radio; World Cafe Live; WE THE PEOPLE 200, The Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution; The President's Summit for America's Future; Philadelphia Liberty Medal; Philadelphia Convention and Visitor's Bureau; City Year; Welcome America, and many others. I was also editor of the 2000 Republican Convention's Delegate and Media Guide, as well as the head of the Marketing to the Media Committee. Some of the comunications activities I have been involved have included: a mass murder; anthrax scare; Listeria outbreak; product failures; top executive changes; national product launches; chemical leaks; planning a Super Bowl Parade; managing live remotes for national networks; coordinating logistics for major international celebrations; and media credentialling.

 

My education.

 

​I graduated summa cum laude from Temple University with a Masters Degree in Organizational Behavior, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in English from Goddard College. I attended the University of London for a semester abroad program, and also went to Rutgers University before transferring to Goddard College. I served as president of American Women and Radio and Television's Philadelphia Chapter; was on the advisory boards of Children's Literacy Initiative; The Tug McGraw Foundation; and a board member of the Urban Affairs Coalition. I volunteer at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and provide pro-bono communications services to many non-profit organizations throughout the U.S.
